We think that swapping stuff is great; when you exchange your unwanteds you are helping us wage war on waste. If you don’t want it anymore; why don’t you blow the cobwebs off, bring it down to our event and swap it for something nearly new…

Swapping does some great things:
You are giving Mother Earth a break - CD’s, Video games and all the rest require raw materials from the planet – so by swapping you are helping to sustain the future of the world.
You are protecting your wallet from the shopping monster, and your bank manager will fall in love with you all over again for not going into your overdraft.
You are reducing waste; the items that you would normally sneak into the wheelie bin under the cloak darkness, get a brand new home. They will be loved and cared for and might even send you a postcard when they go on holiday.
You can remix your old clothes – you don’t have to swap – you can alter them instead and turn them into something almost brand new!
You can disappear in a dense fog of your own smugness because your friends pay for stuff that you can get for free.
We aren’t against newness: new friends, new ideas, a new moon; those kinds of things are all fantastic. But do we always need new stuff? We happen to like things that have a history (sordid or otherwise), like the John Legend album that has seen three break ups, a wedding, but no funerals. How about the psychedelic flower child dress that has seen some serious action; action that may have involved the consumption of mushrooms... We mean Portobello Mushrooms - not the magic kind! As if we would promote drug use... shame on you!
